Signals are physical representation of data .Users of a communication system can only exchange data through the transmission of signals.Layer 1 of the ISO/OSI basic reference model is responsible for the conversion of data, i.e bits into signals and vice versa.
Signals are functions of time and loaction.Signal parameters represent the data values .The most intresting type of signals for radiotransmission are peroidic signals, especially sine waves as carriers.
